Interesting article in Fortune suggesting that female CEOs at Fortune 500 companies earn slightly more than their male counterparts. The reality, of course, is perhaps not so simple - of the 346 executives surveyed only 21 were female - a figure which is disappointing in its own right, but also means that the sample size is very small.
According to an analysis by executive data firm Equilar and The Associated Press, the median pay for a female chief executive was $13.1 million last year. Male CEOs, on the other hand, earned $11.4 million. Both numbers represent an increase of 9% over the year before.
