The recent High Court ruling in respect of a transgender child has caused widespread concern among the transgender community, with parents fearing that their children could be removed from their care.
Whilst High Court decisions do form a precedent, each case is very much decided upon its own facts, with the welfare of any children being the Court's paramount consideration.
I would certainly hope that upon separation, parents will work together to ensure they are considering their children's welfare and best interests and seek to resolve matters amicably before embarking on litigation to resolve any issues.
