The theme of International Women's Day this year is "Pledge for Parity".
In 2014, the World Economic Forum predicted that it would take until 2095 to achieve global gender parity.
But in 2015, they observed that the pace of change had slowed even further, which means that the gender gap wouldn't close entirely until 2133.
This means that everyone needs to take action to close the gap. Why? Because both society and businesses will benefit from gender diversity in the workplace.
And if you want to understand diversity among your customers, you need diversity among your staff.
“Diversity is integral to business success, and businesses should want to hire female talent. According to a study by The Peterson Institute for International Economics, companies with female leaders make more profit, demonstrating just how much businesses could be missing out on by not encouraging gender diversity in their workplace. With diversity comes a wider range of competencies, perspectives and approaches to tasks. Businesses very rarely have a consumer base formed of just one single demographic, so to truly understand the customers your business relies on, diversity is key.” Rachel Lane, Director & Practice Lead of Customer Analytics, EMEA, at Verint
